Mixed Veg Gravy Manchurian

I have been a great fan of Chinese cuisine since I was a kid. Indo Chinese is one of the most popular and a very important part of Asian cuisine. Mixed veg gravy Manchurian is one of my favorite recipes, when it comes to eating Chinese street foods. This is mainly served with noodles or fried rice as a main dish. Manchurian can be made dry as well which are served as snacks or appetizers. But here we are going to make it with gravy so that you can have it as a full fledged lunch or dinner meal.

So let’s get ready to cook Mixed Vegetable Gravy Manchurian.



  • 1 cup Cabbage grated
  • 1/2 cup Carrots grated
  • 1/2 cup Capsicum finely chopped
  • 1 cup Cauliflower grated
  • 1 cup Corn Starch
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoon Garlic finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Green Chilli finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup Spring Onion leaves finely chopped
  • 1 cup Onion finely chopped
  • 1 cup Mixed colored bell pepper chopped into small squared pieces.
  • 1/2 cup Soya sauce
  • 2 tablespoon Red chilli Sauce
  • Black Pepper for seasoning
  • Oil for frying

Method to Cook:

Step 1

To prepare the Manchurian dough, first add all the vegetables in a bowl. Add salt to taste, green chillies, black pepper and a small quantity of corn starch. Mix well and then keep adding corn starch in very small quantities to get a soft dough. Add a little water if it is too dry. Don’t add too much of corn starch, else the manchurian will be very hard.

Step 2

Heat oil for frying in a kadai. Divide the dough into equal balls and fry them. Keep them aside on a tissue paper so that it soaks extra oil.

Step 3

Now, we will prepare the gravy. Take a pan. Heat two tablespoon oil in it. Now add chopped onion and saute for a while till it gets translucent. Add chopped garlic and saute again. Now add chopped mixed bell peppers, salt to taste, red chilli sauce, soya sauce and a little bit of tomato ketchup for some sweetness.

Step 4

Mix a tablespoon of corn starch with little water in a bowl to make a paste of runny consistency. Now add this paste to kadai. Keep stirring till you see a thick consistency gravy. Add a little water, mix well and cook for about 2-3 minutes. Add some more water as per your choice of gravy consistency.

Step 5

Add Manchurian balls into the gravy and mix well. Cook for about 2 minutes. Garnish with spring onion leaves and serve hot with fried rice or noodles.
